The protest for the whereabouts of missing cooperative official K.C. Somanna at Krishnagiri intensified with supporters and activists of various people’s organisations undertaking relay fast at the Collectorate here on Thursday.

T. Shadrak (CPI-M), K. Jagannath (CPI), Seshaphani (BC leader), Dandu Seshu Yadav (Samajwadi Party), Patnam Rajeswari (Mahila Sangham) and others took part in the protest.

Mr. Shadrak urged the police to speed up the investigation into the missing of the official before they were accused of neglecting the investigation. He said prime facie evidence existed against certain people whom the official met before he went missing. He said the family of Mr. Somanna was anxious about his safety and some of them have taken ill.

He said the ruling party leaders would be held accountable if anything went wrong as clear evidence was available through the sequence of events before he went missing. The leaders plan to intensify the agitation.
