Rural Development Minister Dokka Manikya Varaprasada Rao on Tuesday exuded confidence that the government would easily win the no-confidence motion for which the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) sought to give notice in the Assembly session beginning on Wednesday.
He said that the Opposition parties were coming up with the no-confidence motion without having a commonality of views and only with a desire to dislodge the government to further their narrow interests.
In a brief chat with media persons before the inauguration of Revenue Sadassulu at Tadikonda, Mr. Varaprasada Rao said this was the second time in just over eight months that the Opposition parties are seeking to test the government’s strength in the Assembly knowing fully well that it has the requisite numbers on its side.
It has become a habit for them (Opposition parties) to challenge the government whenever the Assembly is in session to show that they are fighting for the public cause.
The minister alleged that it was sheer political opportunism that is driving the Opposition parties to once again test their luck against heavy odds.
