TIRUPATI: As per the TTD almanac (Panchangam) which is followed in letter and spirit by all the TTD temples, there will be two solar eclipses—one on August 1, 2008 and the other on January 26, 2009.

The lunar eclipse is on August 16, 2008 .

In view of solar eclipse on August 1, the temple of Lord Venkateswara, Tirumala and all the TTD temples located in and around Tirupati would remain closed from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. and all sevas except the pre-dawn Friday abhishekam are cancelled. Sarva darshanam on the day of the solar eclipse would be from 6.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. and it would be resumed only at 8 p.m. to go on till the closure of the temple with Ekantha Seva.

Lunar eclipse

In view of lunar eclipse on August 16 starting at 01.05 hours and ending at 4.14 am on August 17, the TTD temples will remain closed from 7.30 p.m. of August 16 to 5 a.m. of August 17. With regard to sevas, except Suprabatham, all sevas remain cancelled on August 16.
