VISAKHAPATNAM: Degrees are just passports for the launch of a career but survival in the competitive job sector requires involvement and constant hard work, vice-chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University K. Rajagopal said.

He was addressing the students of Al-Ameer College of Engineering and Information Technology at the annual day celebrations, Vibrant-2K7, at Kalavani Auditorium on Friday.

He stressed the importance of application-oriented education system and the implementation of continuous evaluation system by all universities. Principal of College of Arts and Science, Andhra University, J.V. Prabhakar Rao spoke on the need to be a part of the technological change that is taking place in the education sector. Medals were distributed to the students for academic excellence in different fields. Chairman of the college V.A. Siddiqui, secretary and correspondent I.H. Farooqui, and principal C. Ayyanna were present.
