ELURU: D. Suran Naidu, a retired professor in politics, Andhra University, on Wednesday said the ruling Congress had to pay a heavy price for its reform agenda in the recent Assembly elections held in different States.

He was speaking on ‘India’s party system: prospects for a third alternative’ at Sir C.R. Reddy College.

Mr. Naidu observed that there was hardly any scope for a third alternative in the present highly complex party system though Left parties were striving for such political set-up.
