Minister for Transport Botcha Satyanarayana has said that the government has been making every effort to supply power for seven hours to agriculture. Participating in a number of stone-laying functions in his Cheepurupalli Assembly constituency on Wednesday, the Minister said that the government was sincere in its endeavour to provide basic amenities to people and there was no dearth of funds for welfare activities.
He asked Transco officials to set up a transformer at Chintapallipeta where low-voltage problem was severe. He promised pension to the eligible in the village.
Earlier, the Minister laid the foundation stones for roads and protected water supply schemes which are estimated to cost Rs. 1.23crore in Gurla and Cheepurupalli mandals.
The Minister distributed cycles to 25 schoolgirls, bonds under Girl Child Protection Scheme to 633 girls and bank linkages to three SHGs. Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah and other officials were present.
