‘Congress taking innovative steps to ensure intra-party democracy'
Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao on Thursday said there would be no family-dominated parties in future as Congress party was taking a series of innovative steps to ensure internal democracy in the party and it would likely have a serious impact on regional parties which were controlled by a few people. Other parties would be forced to adopt the new systems being practised by Congress to ensure internal democracy, he felt.
The Minister who inaugurated CC Road in Visakha-A Colony on Thursday told media that Congress would have an excellent organisational setup with youngsters with in the age group of 18 and 35. He said election of Youth Congress presidents for each and every Assembly and Parliamentary would rejuvenate the party and enable the Congress to have dedicated leadership emerging from the grassroots level.
‘No dearth of leaders'
“Young leaders who understand the problems of society will enter legislative bodies in future, thanks to the initiatives of Rahul Gandhi. The Congress began enrolment of party workers in each and every booth. Youngsters will certainly join Congress since it provides opportunity to grow to each and everyone. It cannot be possible in regional parties,” said Mr.Prasada Rao.
According to him, political families cannot stop growth of others with the adoption of new system. There would be no dearth of leadership for the Congress in future. The election process for the Youth Congress would get completed very soon with the beginning of enrolment of party activists in all mandals. Taining camps with experts and intellectuals would be held for elected leaders.
