The Kadapa MP will undertake the programme in Prakasam next month, he says
Minister for Mines and Geology Balineni Srinivas Reddy on Thursday said no directive had been issued to refrain from taking part in the ‘Odarpu Yatra' of Congress Kadapa MP Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy.
A day after Chief Minister K. Rosaiah had reportedly asked his Cabinet colleagues and ruling Congress legislators to keep away from the “Odarpu Yatra'', which recommenced from Itchapuram in Srikakulam district this morning, the Minister, a staunch follower of YSR, announced that Jaganmohan Reddy would undertake “Odarpu Yatra'' in Prakasam district next month.
“No specific directive has been issued to keep away (from Odarpu yatra)'' he said while talking to mediapersons after taking part in an official function got up by the district administration to remember YSR on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Jaganmohan Reddy would visit every nook and corner of Prakasam district for three days from August 8 to console the families of YSR's followers who had committed suicide or died of heart attack in the wake the YSR's death in a helicopter crash on September 2 last year, the Minister said.
Earlier, taking part in the function, the Minister, amid applause said “several of those who have benefitted during the YSR regime, are behaving differently now. They will only have a bleak future''. “I will be loyal to the family of YSR, who has made me a minister, and be at the services of the YSR family till my last breadth'', he vowed.
Hailing the Rosaiah Cabinet's decision to celebrate YSR's birth anniversary as an official function, he promised to strive for implementation of all the welfare schemes and development programmes initiated by YSR, including houses for the poor on saturation basis.
