HYDERABAD: The Telangana JAC has said that there is no bandh in Telangana on Saturday as feared by public. The JAC came up with the clarification at its meeting on Friday to dispel a notion in public that the two-day bandh called by TRS on Thursday and Friday, which was subsequently restricted to Thursday alone in view of Christmas, might be rescheduled on Saturday.

The TRS decided against enforcing its bandh call on Friday on a request by the All India Christian Council.

TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao told the JAC that the bandh call could not be implemented on Saturday as it was Boxing Day.

It was not possible on Sunday and Monday either; the latter coincided with Moharrum.

He urged the JAC to chalk out a long drawn agitational programme from Tuesday.
