Hyderabad: Princess Naqiya Zainab, great granddaughter of the seventh Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan, has condemned the attack on Zafar Javed and Nisar Ahmed of the Sultan-ul-Uloom and the threatening calls to the college. In a statement here on Wednesday, she said her great grandfather had given the Mount Pleasant Palace with about 24.10 acres of land where the Sultan-ul-Uloom colleges are now located. Her mother Princess Fatima Fouzia and aunts Princesses Amina Merzia and Kulsumund and brother Shamat Ali Khan had initiated several legal cases against the college claiming to be shareholders. Princes Zainab claimed that the palace was gifted to her and her sister, Safia Sakina.
CM assures action
Meanwhile, Chief Minister K. Rosaiah has assured action by the police against the persons who attacked Jaffer Javed on January 4 and Nizar Ahmed on October 17, inflicting stab wounds on them.
The police will also take steps to identify the culprits who were allegedly making threat calls to the family members of Jaffer Javed, the Chief Minister promised. A delegation of the society led by former Energy Minister Mohd. Ali Shabbir met the Chief Minister on Wednesday and complained that the police did not take any action.
