District Collector D. Varaprasad has appealed to bankers to extend cooperation in meeting the target of extending Rs.2250 crore credit under various schemes and programmes to beneficiaries during the current (2010-11) financial year.
Addressing the gathering of bank controllers and coordinators at the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting, here on Saturday, he said: “We have accepted a whopping credit plan vowing to meet Rs.2250 crore target this year. However, we should not end up with creating 75 per cent credit, and hence make efforts to achieve hundred per cent target. Otherwise, we can not accept credit plan for next year”.
The conditions were conducive for rabi and therefore farmers were likely to undertake crops in 1.30 lakh hectares in the season. Keeping in view their needs the administration already positioned fertilizer, seed and other inputs and implements.
