The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal released the schedule for the MCA common entrance test (NIMCET) here on Friday.

The NIMCET is a national-level test for admission into MCA course offered by the 11 NITs across the country.

According to NIT director and chairman of NIMCET Prof. T. Srinivasa Rao, and secretary of NIMCET-2013 Prof. T. Ramesh, the entrance examination being conducted by the NIT, Warangal will be held on May 26 (Sunday) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at different centres across the country.

The MCA course is offered in NITs at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirapalli and Warangal for the academic year 2013-14. Test pattern is one question paper containing 120 multiple choice questions set from mathematics, analytical ability and logical reasoning, computer awareness and general English.

Those intending to appear for the test should secure at least 60 percent marks in aggregate or 6.5 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) on a 10 point scale (55 percent marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale in case of SC, ST) in BSc, BSc (Hons), BCA , BIT of minimum three years full-time, BE, B.Tech or equivalent from a recognised university.

Students who are in their final year semester of the above qualifying degree are also eligible to take the test. Students who have obtained BSc, BSc (Hons), BCA, BIT (3 years) from open universities are also eligible to apply provided their programme is approved by the UGC, AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC).

Applications can be submitted online through website and the hard copy of the computer generated application form along with relevant documents should be submitted to the concerned authorities on or before April 16, 2013. The candidates can also download admit cards from the website.
