The new scheme to establish women industrial parks in each district with allotment of at least 30 acres of land has been named “Indiramma Mahalakshmi”.

This comes after “Amma Hastham”, the name given to the scheme launched recently to supply nine essential items to white card families in a single packet.

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy announced his plan to christen the industrial parks scheme again after former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi while participating in the second anniversary celebrations of Stree Nidhi organised at Gachibowli here on Saturday. He wanted women to come up as industrialists using the facilities available to them and said “each one of you should be able to offer jobs to 50 to 100 others”. He also announced the credit plan for self-help groups for 2013-14, stating that a target was set to extend a huge sum of Rs 16,500 crore to them during the fiscal. Out of this, Rs 14,976 crore would be floated as loans from commercial banks while the balance of Rs 1,600 crore would be released from Stree Nidhi.
