It will have Ramachandrapuram as headquarters
The State government is considering establishment of a new Revenue Division-Ramachandrapuram as its headquarters. As a part of restructuring the revenue divisions and mandals in the State for administrative convenience, one more revenue division, in addition to the present divisions of Rajahmundry, Amalapuram, Peddapuram, Kakinada and Ramapachodavaram, is likely to be formed, taking the number to six from present five. The district administration has already submitted proposals for this division, keeping public convenience in view.
At present Ramachandrapuram is in Rajahmundry Revenue Division, at a distance of 45 km, causing hardship to public who attend Rajahmundry for their grievances redressal. Formation of a new division with Ramachandrapuram, K. Ganagavaramalamuru, Kapileswarapuram, Kajaluru and Rayavaram mandals would help the public to contact the division headquarters.
It is also under the consideration of government to establish urban mandals at Kakinada and Rajahmundry cities keeping in view the amount of work done at urban mandals. As present population of these cities exceeds four lakh. The proposals for inclusion of the surrounding villages in the corporations of Rajahmundry and Kakinada also increases the amount of work. Accordingly one more urban mandal in each of these cities is likely to be formed.
