Vishnuvardhan Reddy becomes the youngest legislator in the Assembly now
HYDERABAD: The six newly elected Congress MLAs were sworn in by Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy on Friday afternoon.
Except Khairatabad MLA P. Vishnuvardhan Reddy who took the oath in English, all others were administered the pledge in Telugu.
They were Akula Lalita (Dichpally), T. Manemma (Musheerabad), B. Janardhan Goud (Yellareddy), Mallu Ravi (Jadcherla) and G. Prasad Kumar (Vikarabad).
Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and some of his Cabinet colleagues, AP Congress Committee president D. Srinivas and several Congress MLAs were present at the ceremony which was conducted in the old Assembly building. Supporters of the new MLAs turned up for the occasion in large numbers.
At 28, Mr. Vishnuvardhan Reddy becomes the youngest member of the Assembly. Slogans hailing his father late P. Janardhan Reddy filled the hall as he was administered the oath.
