District Collector S. Solomon Arokia Raj on Wednesday issued orders for construction of new classrooms for the dilapidated DPS ZP High School at Kasimkota after MLC M V S Sarma met him. Mr. Sarma requested the DEO to see to it that to classes be run in two shifts at ZP Girls High School.
A two-day district science exhibition “Inspire” began at SFS School on Wednesday. Joint Collector Praveen Kumar who inaugurated the exhibition wanted teachers to keep themselves abreast of the developments in science and impart it to students through practicals. DEO B. Lingeswra Reddy and Inspire district nodal officer C.V. Renuka spoke. About 5,000 students from all over the district participated and 220 models were on display.
DYFI city unit on Wednesday organised a dharna at the National Highways Authority of India office demanding that repairs be carried out to the national highway between Gajuwaka and Madhurawada. DYFI secretary V. Krishna Rao said people faced hardships negotiating the road dotted with craters and also because of the heavy traffic on the Chennai-Howrah highway. A DYFI release said NHAP Project Director Vijayasri assured that repairs would be carried out in 15 days.
