Collector B. Sreedhar made a surprise visit to Dodla Subba Reddy Government Headquarters Hospital here on Wednesday. He visited the out-patients' registration, drug distribution room, wards, scanning and ECG rooms in the hospital.
The Collector interacted with the inpatients and their attendants. Mr. Sreedhar asked the District Coordinator of Hospital Services Dr. Nirmalamma and Hospital Superintendent A. Penchalaiah about the out-patients' registrations per day and the inpatient occupation.
He enquired with the patients the sanitary conditions in wards, corridors and on hospital premises and toilets in the DSR Hospital. The Collector also asked Dr. Penchalaiah about punctuality of doctors in various wards, technicians, lab assistants and the class IV staff.
He visited the Blood Bank in the hospital and asked the Blood Bank Medical Officer B. Krishna Murthy on availability of blood units, particularly the rare groups. Later, Mr. Sreedhar garlanded the portrait of Dodla Subba Reddy who donated 100 acres for the hospital.
The Collector participated in a programme at Narayana General Hospital at Chintareddypalem on the city outskirts later and inaugurated the Diabetes Clinic. He praised the Narayana Hospital staff for providing medical services to the poor in rural areas.
