Neelam Jute Mill Private Limited on Friday said that it was ready to reopen the factory if normal production was assured by trade union leaders. The company announced lockout three months ago alleging that CITU leaders and others had encouraged indiscipline among the workers, leading to a big drop in production. In a press release, the company manager B.L. Eswara Rao urged the union leaders not to instigate workers to agitate against the company. He requested the trade union leaders to cooperate with the management to protect the interests of workers who lost wages in the last three months.
