“Drama can never be replaced even by 3D television, as it offers the unique experience of seeing the artiste in person and action unfolding right in front of the audience,” said R.N. Jayaraj, Chairman and Chief Executive, Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad. He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the XXVII Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) Sports and Cultural Meet at Atomic Energy Central School (AECS) grounds at Gautaminagar in Aswapuram on Sunday night.

Addressing a huge gathering of employees of the Heavy Water Plant, Aswapuram, on the occasion, Mr. Jayaraj said creative drama should be nurtured to treasure the glorious heritage of theatre.

‘Vibrant medium'

“Drama is a vibrant art medium, which involves display of creative skills in an action-packed mode live on stage. It requires great stamina, memory power, and dialogue delivery skills to perform on stage,” he said and recalled the distinguished achievements of stage artistes-turned- film stars Prithviraj Kapoor and Akkineni Nageswara Rao. He commended the DAE employees for showcasing their creative talents in various thought-provoking dramas.
