Parasailing activity instils confidence and sense of achievement
TIRUPATI: With the inclusion of parasailing activity in National Cadet Corps (NCC) module a couple of years back, the training for air wing cadets has definitely risen to a new high.
This feat is part of the training programme in the ongoing Combined Annual Training Camp, conducted by 11(A) Air Squadron (Tech) wing of Tirupati group, comprising Chittoor, Kadapa and Nellore districts.
Around 750 cadets are enthusiastically taking part in the camp.
The activity is going on in the barren lands near Renigunta airport.
Cadets are trained in flying high in a parasail, which is tied to their body with a 11 metre rope. Another rope is tied to a jeep, the movement of which against the wind makes the parasail rise high in the air, taking the cadet with it.
Parasailing activity, which requires concentration, valour and mental strength, fills one with a lot of self-confidence, esteem and a sense of achievement, explains Wing Commander T.B.S. Rao, who is also the commandant of the camp. Boys and girls alike are eager to get exposed to this fun-cum-adventure activity.
The Group commander Colonel. Sandeep Kumar also paid a visit to the training camp.
