VISAKHAPATNAM: As a part of the Community Development Programme undertaken by INS Eksila, a medical camp for free immunisation and vaccination for children was held on Friday in which over 150 children from the neighbouring villages of Mulgadda and Edhuvanipalem were immunised.

The immunisation camp was inaugurated by Vice Admiral Dinesh Prabhakar, Project Director, Ship Building Centre (Visakhapatnam). The attendant medical team also spoke to the parents about the importance of first aid and of immunisation for better protection against various preventable diseases and stressed on the importance of early detection of chronic and communicable diseases.

Apart from free medical camps, the welfare measures initiated in the past under the aegis of the ENC include repairs and refurbishment of community halls, anti-malarial fogging/spraying and liaison with local civil authorities for better sanitation and electricity to the neighbouring villages, a spokesman of the ENC said.
