Hyderabad-based Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute will organise a national vendor development programme-cum-industrial exhibition - MSME Expo - on September 24 and 25 at the Automobile Technicians' Association Hall here in which Minister for Secondary Education K. Parthasarathy will be the chief guest.

In a release here on Wednesday, institute's Deputy Director N.T. Naidu said that the objective of the programme was to provide an opportunity to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) to showcase their capabilities to public sector units and other large industries that outsource products and services to micro, small and medium enterprises.

“The expo would be an ideal platform for PSUs to identify vendors thus promoting marketing avenues for MSMEs,” he felt. He also said that the technical session would enlighten the participants on vendor registration procedures and procurement policies.

Topics such as the role of facilitating agencies, quality standards and specifications, indigenisation of critical, core and strategic items and requirement of PSUs would be covered in the technical session.

Public sector units such as BHEL, VSP, NTPC, SCR, BEL, APSRTC, GAIL and ONGC along with financial institutions like SIDBI, SBH, APSFC, Andhra Bank, SBI, PNB, IDBI and Syndicate Bank are taking part in the expo.

Mr. Naidu said that institute extended its consultancy services to the existing and prospective entrepreneurs and developed entrepreneurial skills though training programmes.

“We offer our services to chemical, electrical, electronics, glass, ceramic, leather, footwear, mechanical, metallurgical industries. “We also help organising seminars on topics of interest to MSMEs, like WTO implications, emerging technologies, emerge conservation, quality standards, bio technology, packing for exports and export procedure,” he said.

The CII- Vijayawada Zone, A.P. Small Industries Association, Vijayawada Auto Cluster Development Company Limited are also actively involved in the two-day programme.

Member of Parliament Lagadapati Rajagopal and East MLA Yelamanchali Ravi will be the guests of honour.
