    VISAKHAPATNAM: The Department of Commerce and Management Studies of Andhra University will organise a national seminar on `corporate communications - the mirror of corporate image' in the university campus on Friday and Saturday.

    Strategies

    The focus of seminar would be on the various strategies to align corporate communications with major strategic initiatives of the organisation and to harness the power of communication during times of crisis, said seminar director N. Sambasiva Rao here on Thursday.

    He pointed out communication had become an important component of an organisation in the changing business environment and in the modern age, communication was considered an important tool of successful management.

    The seminar would have some sub-themes like brand management and communication strategies, role of corporate communications, communication during a crisis, role of information and communication technology, ethics of corporate communications and branding HR function. Senior executives from related areas, academicians and consultants would share their experiences with participants of the seminar.

    Co-director of seminar M. Sandhya Sridevi, representatives of the professional bodies associated with the seminar - Visakhapatnam Management Association's president M.N.K.S. Varma, president G.N. Murthy and secretary C. Ramakrishna of the local chapter of Public Relations Society of India, and president of local chapter of Indian Society for Training and Development D.K. Varma were also present. The local chapter of National HR Development Network is also associated with the seminar.
