The students of Osmania College took out a rally here on Thursday commemorating the birth anniversary of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad, in whose memory the National Education Day is being observed.

MLA T.G. Venkatesh flagged the rally which passed through One Town, Flower Market, Pedda Market, Old Bus Stand and Kids World. Principal Nisar Ahmed, District Wakf Board chairman Chand Basha, NCC Officer Anwar Hussain and J. Sudhakar Reddy and others were present.

Former student of Osmania College and writer K.C. Kalkura was felicitated by the college management and students on the occasion. Addressing the students, Mr. Kalkura described Azad as a great patriot and man of letters who could become the Prime Minister of Pakistan had he migrated to that country after partition. But he decided to remain in the country and serve the motherland keeping himself above power politics. College Correspondent Azra Javed and others were present.
