The Nandi awards for best supporting actor and actress for 2011 have gone to Prakash Raj ( Dookudu ) and Sujatha Reddy ( Inkennalu ) while Sammeta Ghandi is selected as the best character actor ( Rajanna ).
The jury headed by S. Gopala Reddy received six educational films, but none of them was found to be eligible for award in this category.
Dookudu has been chosen as the best popular wholesome entertainment film for the year and 100 per cent love the best home-viewing film.
M.S. Narayana and Ratna Sagar have been given the best comedian awards among males and females for their performance in films Dookudu and Karalu Miriyalu .
In the children’s category, Sikharam and Gantala Bandi were adjudged best and second best films. In documentaries, Avayavadanam and Mana Badhyata are given the best and second best awards.
Bhanu Prakash Balusu is given the best first-film director award ( Prayogam ), Sreenu Vaitla the best screenplay writer ( Dookudu ) and A. Ramesh Prasad ( Rushi ) special jury award. The other individual awards announced by Information Minister D . K. Aruna based on the recommendations made by a 12-member jury are:
Best child actor: Master Nikhil ( 100 per cent love ); best child actress: Baby Annie ( Rajanna ). Best story writer: Raj Madiraju ( Rushi ); best dialogue writer: Neelakanta ( Virodhi ); best lyric writer: Mettappalli Surender (Raati Bommallona Koluvunna Shivuda..in film Poru Telangana ); best female playback singer: Malavika (Amma Avani… in the film Rajanna ).
Best editor: M. R. Varma ( Dookudu ); best art director S. Ravindar ( Rajanna ); best audiographer: K. Devi Krishna ( Badrinath ), Best costume designer: Nikhaar Dhawan & Basha ( Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu ); best fight master : Vijay ( Dookudu ); best male dubbing artiste :R. C. M. Raju ( Poru Telangana ); best female dubbing artiste: Suneetha ( Srirama Rajyam ) and; best special effects: Phani Eggone ( Anagana Oka Dheerudu ).
