TDP president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will visit West Godavari district for an interaction with the farmers affected by the current torrential rains, according to party district president Tota Sitamahalakshmi. Talking to reporters here on Wednesday in connection with a visit by party senior leader M.V. Mysoora Reddy in the rain-hit areas, she said Mr. Naidu was likely to focus on the delta region, which bore the brunt of the nature's fury. He would see for himself the paddy fields still remained in rain waters and console the victims, she added.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mysoora Reddy went round the rain-hit areas in Bhimavaram, Palacole, Poduru and Mogalturu. He warned of direct action by the TDP if the government failed to procure the paddy directly through its agencies by ensuring the minimum support price (MSP) to growers.
The submergence of agriculture fields for days together would result in discolouring of the produce coupled with higher moisture levels.
