TDP president parries student’s query on his stand on division of State

The Telangana issue, which Telugu Desam Party President Nara Chandrababu Naidu has been avoiding all these days ever since the padayatra entered Krishna District, finally haunted him here on Friday.

Geetanjali, a B.Tech student of Nimra College of Engineering, hit the bull’s eye with her question: “You (Mr. Naidu) have developed everything for IT at Hyderabad. Many jobs were created for students like us across the State. How could you support Telangana demand leaving all of us in lurch? Now where do we go?”

Mr. Naidu, however, evaded a direct reply to the question, which invited jeers and whistles from her peers. The TDP leader said that the students need to know some history.

The Telugu Desam pioneered in Information Technology (IT) development. At a time when there was neither bandwidth nor optical fibre cable, the TD government had laid foundations for IT development and created necessary infrastructure, he added.

To another question, Mr. Naidu said that he would streamline the administration, which has derailed under the Congress rule, in just six months.
