The eighteen-day walkathon as part of ‘Vastunna Meekosam’ undertaken by TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu concluded in the district on Thursday when he entered Pagidala village of Gandeed mandal, a border village of Ranga Reddy district.

After addressing an impressive public meeting at Kothlabad village in Koilkonda mandal in the district in the afternoon, Mr. Naidu walked around two-and-a-half kilometers to reach Pagidala village around 5 p.m.

Rangareddy district TDP leaders and party activists received him by according rousing reception to their chief at the entrance of the district.

With this, Mr. Naidu walked 197 km. in Mahabubnagar district starting from Rajoli village in Vaddepalli mandal. On October 22, he entered the district from Kurnool, crossing Sunkesula dam.

He traversed through the villages of five Assembly segments among which Alampoor and Gadwal are represented by Congress legislators and remaining three Makthal, Deverkadra and Narayanpet are represented by his own party MLAs.

Mr. Naidu was forced to suspend his walkathon thrice due to which the twelve-day padayatra scheduled earlier was extended to eighteen days.

He was forced to take a day’s break on October 27 owing to sustaining minor injuries in the back bone when the dais from which he was addressing people collapse at Gadwal on the night of October 26.

Again he was compelled to give two-day break to at Peddachintakunta in Dhanwada mandal on November 2 and 3 to attend the funeral of TDP senior leader Yerran Naidu.

He resumed his padayatra on November 4 from Peddachintakunta but again took a break on November 5 to visit flood-hit areas in coastal Andhra region.

Mr. Naidu, who resumed padayatra on November 6 from Ramakistapuram in Dhanwada mandal, traversed through villages and Lambada thandas in Koilkonda mandal on Wednesday and Thursday and crossed the district border and continued his padayatra in Ranga Reddy district.

Mr. Naidu was given rousing welcome at every village by his party activists but also faced protests from protagonists of Telangana and workers of TRS and BJP at some places while he was addressing public meetings.

Though Mr. Naidu said at Rajoli itself when he entered the district on October 22 that he never spoke against Telangana, Telangana activists in the district refused to get mollified and continued their protests throughout his padayatra at public meetings.
