Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday acted in a three-minute ad film directed by noted filmmaker Mani Shankar at Kusumanchi town.

Mr. Mani Shankar, who earlier made a short film on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi prior to the recently-held elections, shot the film on Mr. Naidu at a specially erected tent on the premises of a school building.

The ad film is based on development theme and it highlights the essence of the ongoing “Vastunna Mee Kosam” padayatra by Mr. Naidu, sources said.

Partymen throng venue

Scores of people, including enthusiastic partymen, thronged the venue to have a glimpse of the shooting. However, the police prevented them from entering the venue. The film shooting lasted just seven minutes inside the huge tent.

Later, Mr. Naidu left for Lokya Tanda as part of his ongoing district leg of the foot march which entered the 102nd day on Friday.

Talking to mediapersons after the completion of film shooting, Mr. Mani Shankar said, “We will incorporate graphics in the ad film and complete it in all respects in one month. It will be put on the Internet sites,” he said. Asked about any similarity between the short film which he had earlier made on Mr. Modi and his latest film, he said, “Both are different. The ad film has nothing to do with politics and it supports the cause of development.”
