Seven projects will stand testimony to the reckless decision of YSR, says the TDP president
The TDP squarely blamed former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for the Brijesh Kumar tribunal verdict.
Mr. Naidu, speaking at the Maha Dharna organised on Krishna river bed on Wednesday, said that YSR gave a written commitment to the tribunal foregoing the rights of the State to use the surplus Krishna waters, harming the interests of the State to the maximum extent. The tribunal took the cue and passed the orders accordingly, he alleged.
Seven projects – including Galeru, Handi Neeva, Veligonda, Kalwakurthi and Nettempadu that were dependent on surplus waters -- would stand testimony to irresponsible decisions, he added. The projects would not get a drop of water as the surplus waters of 448 tmc would be shared among Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
Hitherto, Andhra Pradesh, being a lower riparian State, had utilised the surplus water, he said. YSR had removed eminent lawyers such as K. Parasaran and A.K. Ganguly appointed by the TDP Government, he alleged.
