The National Bank for Rural and Agriculture Development (NABARD) is likely to extend financial aid to Adilabad district administration for establishment of five rural haats or markets. This will be done under the bank's activity to promote support to rural non-farm sector.

A press release issued by V.S. Gupta, Assistant General Manager, Adilabad, here on Tuesday, said NABARD has sanctioned loans amounting to Rs. 17.68 crore for 86 projects during 2010-11 under its Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF).

The loan under the RIDF XVI tranche will help bring an additional 3,727 hectares under irrigation and add 8.8 km. of road length besides adding about 90 meters of bridge length.

Mr. Gupta said under the implementation of government subsidy scheme, NABARD has released Rs. 1.56 crore as subsidy for development of agriculture marketing infrastructure.
