Assistant General Manager of National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development K.Subramaniyam on Thursday said Maa Thota programme was providing livelihood and respectable life for the tribal people of Srikakulam district.

He reviewed the Maa Thota programme being implemented with the support of non-governmental organization Action in Rural Technology and Service (ARTS) in Seethampeta mandal. ARTS representatives said that the programme was being taken up in 1000 acres of 42 villages. The scheme was providing livelihood to 1034 tribal farmers.

Mr.Subramaniyam said that training programmes would be conducted to get more yield from crops.

He assured that NABARD would help the farmers to get income from other sources also by establishing self-employment units.
