A car driver died after an altercation with the driver of another car over an accident at L.B. Nagar, on Wednesday.

Forty-year-old Syed Iqbal was driving an Indica while taking three passengers from Shamshabad to Ramoji film city when he overtook a Mercedes Benz near Chinthalkunta. His vehicle grazed past the Benz car.

Angered by this, the driver of the Benz car intercepted Iqbal’s car. “They both got off their vehicles and entered into an argument. The two drivers didn’t attack one another but suddenly Iqbal collapsed, falling on his back,” the LB Nagar Inspector P. Srinivas Reddy said.

The driver suffered a contusion on the back of his head and fell unconscious. He was shifted to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

The L.B. Nagar police registered a case of suspicious death under section 174 of Criminal Procedure Code and got the autopsy performed.

Except the contusion on the rear of the driver’s head, no other injury was found on his body, the police said. Based on the findings of the post-mortem examination, further action will be initiated in the case, they said.
