MVP residents association plans to celebrate Ugadi in a big way

Panchanga sravanam, Ugadi pravachanam and a host of cultural programmes are planned by Alwardas Group of Educational Institutions in association with the 12 Sectors of MVP Colony Welfare Associations as part of Ugadi Sambaralu .

The traditional festival that falls on April 11 has a string of entertaining programmes to offer for the Telugu people at Alwardas Stadium. Speaking at the poster launch function at I.I.A.M. campus here on Monday, secretary of Alwardas Group of Educational Institutions S.P. Ravindra and president of the 12 Sectors’ of MVP Colony Welfare Association Nanduri Ramakrishna said it was the second consecutive year, the team has come up with the concept.

“Folk dances, tappetagullu , janapada geyalu , Annamayya kirtanalu and many more would be part of the festival celebrations on Ugadi from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Stalls with a spread of traditional delicacies will also find a place at the venue,” they said.

With the positive response received last year and with an intention to keep the Telugu traditions and customs alive, this year, the team has also come up with rangavalli competitions.
