VISAKHAPATNAM: Muslims in the city have taken strong exception to the reported remarks of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K. Chandrasekhar Rao on the nomination of Muslims without knowledge of Urdu language on the Wakf Board.

Addressing a media conference here on Monday, former chairman of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) S.A. Rahman noted that Muslims all over the world were one and warned Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao that he would face dire consequences if he attempted divide and rule policy towards Muslims. The TRS chief has no knowledge of Islam, he said, adding that in his tenure as Central Minister, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao did nothing for the welfare of Muslims.

Senior Congress leader CMA Zaheer Ahmed said Muslims all over the world spoke different languages and it was unfair to ridicule the community on the basis of language. Telugu Desam Party district secretary Abdul Chinarehmanand others were present.
