Saint composer Narayana Theertha's life and works remain a great legacy for us to cherish as they are imbued with spiritual and devotional fervour. His tarangams constitute a distinct genre in their own right, observed Judge Special Court for ACB cases and III Additional District and Session Judge G.C. Kishniah here on Thursday. The occasion was ‘Murali Gana Rasamrita Taranga Ganam' held at Sankaramatam under the aegis Sri Narayana Theertha Tarangini. Founded by freedom fighter Gundlapalli Adinarayana, the forum has been instrumental in the promotion and popularisation of Narayana Theertha's works over years. Besides being priceless gems in their devotional exuberance, tarangams continue to be compositions of matchless beauty both in the realms of literature and music, he added. Later, accompanied by Mahendravada Narasimha Murthy on violin and Kameswararao on mridangam, Hyderabad-based vocalist GSK Sampath Kumar presented a scintillating concert of Narayana Theertha's tarangams.
