KARIMNAGAR: TRS State general secretary K. Rama Rao alleged that APSRTC chairman M. Satyanarayana Rao and others have diluted the cause of Telangana statehood by joining the Congress party after being elected on Telangana Praja Samithi (TPS) party ticket in 1971.

“The Telangana movement was launched by students in 1969 from Khammam district, which spread to Osmania University and entire Telangana region. However, the politically unemployed took up the issue for their selfish gains of attaining power, launched the TPS and diluted the cause by merging it with Congress,” he maintained.

Mr. Rao, son of TRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao, charged that Mr. Satyanarayana Rao launched his political career on Telangana sentiment and diluted it.
