MRPS seeks more ration to poor

Scores of people under the aegis of Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) gathered at the District Collectorate on Thursday and demanded more ration to poor families.

Express solidarity

The Brahmana Seva Samakhya leaders Gangu Upendra Sharma and A Satyamohan expressed their solidarity and addressed the gathering with MRPS leader M Krishna Madiga. The samakhya leaders appreciated the efforts of MRPS in highlighting the needs of physically challenged, poor and underprivileged. They wished the samithi success and expressed their support to all its endeavours in achieving the social justice.

Krishna Madiga addressing the gathering said as per the constitutional provision, the government was not providing enough food to the poor who comprised majority of population in the State. He demanded that the State government supply 15 kg rice per month per person, provide all the essential commodities enough for a month, recognise all the ration shop dealers as government employees and construct building for ration shops in all villages. The MRPS leaders later submitted a memorandum to the Collectorate officials urging him to bring to the notice of the State government.
