VISAKHAPATNAM: All the elected representatives and others in the hit-list of CPI (Maoist) are being taken care of, Superintendent of Police Vineet Brij Lal said here on Saturday.

Nearly 94 persons have been targeted by the Maoists as per the records available with the police and 12 of them are top on the list. Eighty per cent of those in this list are elected representatives like Panchayat ward members, Sarpanches, MPTC and ZPTC members. As the Maoists have set May 20 as deadline for the people's representatives to quit their elected positions and their parties after killing the Zilla Parishad Vice-Chairman on Monday, the police are in constant touch with those living in the interior villages. Some of them have been provided personal security guards and a monitoring cell established.
