After three days of heavy rain that resulted in inundation of low-lying areas and crops, the three regions of the State received only moderate rains on Tuesday.
Man washed away
In Guntur district, a 27-year-old man, T.Nagaraju, drowned in a drain near Pedanandipadu and his body was traced Tuesday afternoon.
The rain in Kadapa district resulted in significant inflows into the Somasila project through the Pennar River. Consequently, the storage in the project, which is the lifeline of the Nellore district, has gone up to 49 tmcft as against its full capacity of 73 tmcft.
The Sriramsagar reservoir across the Godavari is receiving inflows of 18,000 cusecs while power generation has been resumed in Srisailam project which is receiving 54,000 cusecs.
No opening flood gates
It deferred its earlier decision to open flood gates of Srisailam dam as the water level remained static at 881 ft (full level 885 ft).
On Tuesday, Viakrabad received 7 cm, Kavali, Dubbaka 5 cm each and Ongole, Addanki, Thiruvur and Asifabad 4 cm each.
