VISAKHAPATNAM: A mobile health unit of the Jindal South West (JSW) Foundation was flagged off by the Project Director of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) A. Sharath at Araku Valley on Monday.

Mr. Sharath commended the JSW Foundation for coming forward to start the medical health unit to cater to the needs of tribals of Araku and Anantagiri mandals. He called upon the management of JSW Aluminium Ltd to extend medical services to other mandals of the agency also.

Vice-president (projects) JSW Aluminium Ltd. R.C. Swain explained the objectives of community social responsibilities of the JSW Foundation to improve health, education, sports and women empowerment in the project areas of the company.

Project Officer of the AP Mineral Development Corporation Radha Krishna underlined the need to take up bauxite mining in Araku and Anantagiri mandals for the economic development of tribals. Chief General Manager (HR, CSR) of Jindal, P. Vachaspathi, and Medical Officer of the health unit M. Ravi Kumar spoke.
