HYDERABAD: From a pharmaceutical industry perspective, the Budget has again turned out to largely be a non-event. I did not see anything in the budget that will positively impact any of these fundamental issues.

In a nutshell the budget tried to address some fundamental macro economic issues like inflation control without retarding the growth engine.

The five-year tax holiday to 2/3/4 star hotels in national capital region on account of Commonwealth Games is a welcome move. The focus on improving road and urban infrastructure in the country will be a facilitator in the growth of both domestic and inbound tourism.

It is a politically compounded budget.

There was no mention of reforms of labour laws.
