The Prakasam police solved the mystery behind the death of a nine-year-old boy by questioning a 16-year-old boy at Chintachitlakunta in S.N.Padu in Prakasam district on Thursday.
Registering a case of death under suspicious circumstances on May 12, Ongole Taluka police found after post-mortem that the nine-year-old boy was murdered after unnatural sex.
Circle Inspector I. Srinivasan told reporters that questioning of some persons who exhibited similar behaviour led to the police questioning the 16-year-old boy who admitted to have taken the boy to a secluded place after buying him chocolate and forced the latter to have unnatural sex before smothering him to death.
The sixteen-year-old accused was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board which directed the police to hand him over to the Observation Home for boys in Tirupati.
Investigation revealed that the boy had such relationships with other boys in the village too, the police officer added.
