Officials told to issue ration cards to all eligible applicants

Ministers P. Balaraju and G. Srinivasa Rao on Thursday held a meeting with Tahsildars and MDOs of Kotavuratla, Nakkapalli, Payakaraopeta and S. Rayavaram and reviewed the implementation of social welfare schemes.

Incidentally the four mandals form the part of Payakaraopeta Assembly segment, which will go to polls soon following the disqualification of its MLA G. Babu Rao.

The Ministers told the officials to issue ration cards, pension and houses to all eligible applicants without delay.

Mr. Balaraju wanted coordination among officials and quick implementation of the schemes and programmes. Ration cards must be revived to the genuine persons so that there would not be any hitch in the issue of loans, pension and certificates to them. List of eligible persons not having ration cards must be prepared, he said.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao told the officials to create awareness among people on the government schemes and programmes and ensure prompt supply of ration, pension, subsidies, etc. An action plan must be prepared to face the possible water scarcity during summer, he added.
