The Congress leaders on Tuesday criticised a section of Ministers for not effectively reacting to the criticism of the Opposition in the Assembly and their open attacks on Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and his Government’s welfare and development programmes.
AICC secretary Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said Ministers must sink their differences, if any, and take on the Opposition parties.
“Our Government is doing lot of good work and it is our duty to high light it,” he said.
The Congress leader said Opposition parties were indulging in a systematic political campaign to malign the Government and the Chief Minister.
Red sanders smuggling
Mr. Reddy along with MLC Paladugu Venkata Rao blamed the Forest Department officials for being lethargic and unwilling to curb large scale smuggling of red sanders from Chittoor and Kadapa districts to foreign countries. They must step up vigil and hunt for the smugglers.
“Only last week, a red sanders smuggler was shot dead in an encounter, which only explains the gravity of the situation,” he said.
Mr. Sudhakar Reddy said ruling party MLCs would raise the issue in the on going winter session.
“Yes it is a matter of concern that smuggling of red sanders has increased. We demand a comprehensive probe into the smuggling,” he demanded.
