Party leaders continue their protest

The scathing attack by Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy on YSRC president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy came as a rude jolt to the YSRC party leadership in the district, as its leaders registered their protest in different ways.

Though the Minister made the sharp comments in a sudden outburst at a party programme at Indira Bhavan here on Saturday, the YSRC leadership is taking it as a virtual challenge from the ruling Congress party in the election year. Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy is stated to have commented in a moment of deep anguish over the manner in which some of his Ministerial colleagues were getting implicated in the illegal assets case.

On the second day also, the YSRC leadership held a ‘ksheerabhishekam’ at the YSR statue at Gandhibomma centre in the city to protest against the Minister’s comments.

They raised slogans taking strong objection to the remarks passed against their leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.

The YSRC students’ wing actively took part in the protest when the leaders questioned the moral right of the Minister in making such objectionable comments against Jagan. Meanwhile, YSRC city leader Anil Kumar Yadav held a press conference where he deplored that the Minister had forgotten the past when his family had gotten benefits under the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy regime. He asserted that their party would not keep silent if such provocative remarks were passed against their party president.

Mr. Anil Kumar Yadav dared the Congress leaders to face their party in the elections rather than making misleading statements against the family members of YSR, who were enjoying widespread support of common people all over the State. He said that the Congress party was desperate after seeing the steadfast devotion of the people to the YSR family.
