Minister's assurance on drinking water supply

Housing Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana said drinking water supply in Guntur city would be streamlined from Thursday.

There would be no major interruption due to remedial measures taken by the departments concerned.

At a review meeting on drinking water and power supply at the R&B guest house here on Wednesday, Mr. Lakshminarayana said frequent power cuts in Mangalagiri in the recent past affected drinking water supply to Guntur city.

The officials of Transco were instructed to take necessary measures to mitigate the problem. Water was being supplied through tankers wherever there was a problem.The Minister said officials of K.L. Rao Sagar (Pulichintala) project were ordered to take steps for solving the problems faced by people in areas prone to submergence. In-Charge Collector A. Sarath, Guntur RDO S. Dhilli Rao, Guntur Municipal Commissioner K. Sudhakar and others were present.
