ADILABAD: Labour Minister G. Vinod, who is the Congress candidate for the Chennur (SC) Assembly seat is worth a cool Rs. 11 crores approximately while his wife Rama owns movable and immovable assets and bank balances worth Rs. 5 crores. The detailed information about the assets of the candidate is given in the declaration filed along with his nomination papers. The biggest movable asset owned by the wife and husband duo is in the shape of bonds, debentures and shares in different companies.
While the Minister owns shares and debentures valued at a whopping Rs. 5.86 crores approximately, Ms. Rama owns the same assets that are valued at about Rs. 3.59 crores. The details also indicate that Mr. Vinod pays his taxes regularly and owes only about Rs. 8 lakhs to the ICICI Himayatnagar branch taken as a loan. The affidavit filed by Ramesh Rathod, Adilabad Zilla Parishad chairman and Telugu Desam Party nominee for Adilabad (ST) Parliamentary constituency shows that his appeal is pending in the High Court relating to a case wherein he was accused of manhandling a forest officer in 2006.
