HYDERABAD: Joining his Cabinet colleague M. Mukesh, Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Danam Nagender condemned the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leaders for issuing threats to industries in Hyderabad in the name of the Telangana agitation.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, he said these threats were being held out only by family members of TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and wanted to know as to when the party had turned into a “KCR Private Limited” belonging to KCR’s family. He regretted that the family was behaving as if Telangana was its personal property. Its threats ran contrary to the assurance given by the Joint Action Committee that industries would not be attacked and that the agitation would be peaceful. If such intimidation continued, the revenue of the State as well as employment opportunities would dwindle.

Mr. Nagender said while the TRS sought Telangana State, there were several demands from people living in Greater Hyderabad. Opinions expressed by all quarters must be heard. Like Mr. Mukesh, Mr. Nagender too reassured the settlers in Greater Hyderabad area.

Cordial atmosphere

He announced that he would convene a meeting of all parties, including the TRS, as a prelude to the peace rally proposed to be organised by Mr. Mukesh, to create a cordial atmosphere in Greater Hyderabad.
