VIZIANAGARAM: Minister for Panchayat Raj Botcha Satyanarayana has said that Praja Patham was started in 2005 by the former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to know about the ground realities on drinking water problem and migration of labour during summer in addition to implementation of other welfare schemes.

Participating in Praja Patham at Pippalabhadra village in Jiyyammavalasa mandal in the agency region on Saturday, Mr. Satyanarayana reviewed the drinking water problem and sanctioned two borewells for the village.

On a complaint from people, he asked Transco officials to replace damaged electric poles. On NREGS, he said works valued at Rs. 30.66 lakhs were sanctioned last year.
